a dead animal is a dead animal.... why does it matter if it's chicken or bunny?

Exactly! thats what I've always said, I never understood how people where so repulsed by eating ponies/horses/cats/dogs yet were fine with cows/bacon/lambs etc

People are repulsed as our (western) culture says that some animals are for hugging and some for eating. Even as a veggie I find the idea of eating some animals more horrid than others though one day I was shown pictures of a group of (french) lads bbq'ing and eating a greyhound (i do voluntary work with some greyhound rescues and the breed are very clsoe to my heart). I was near tears until a fellow veggie asked me why it is worse that they should eat a dog than say a pig. Being practically/scientifically minded I couldn't reasonably justify any answer.

i dont care what species i eat as long as it tastes good. i only disagree with eating wild animals because i believe nature has a difficult enough time as it is. farmed animals wouldnt have existed otherwise so eating them has no consequence on nature. if there was a dog farm selling dog meat i'd try it. i tried all sorts of crazy stuff in china.

I should point out I'm also a veggie have been for 15 years now, I just always found it hypocritical of none-veggies to get so upset over the idea of a horse being eaten when a cow is perfectly acceptable.
For me personally I dont like the idea of any animal being eaten

i dont eat meat for many reasons - environmental and animal welfare ones:eek: but that is my choice and as long as people don't try to make me eat meat i wont try to make everyone else into a veggie :D

rabbit meat is lovely:yum:. i first had it on a "survival" weekend thing (they were shot not snared!) where we had to skin and gut them they were then cooked over a proper wood fire in a stew sort of mixture. though might of tasted better cos i was starving. had it since from a butchers where it came out the freezer, still nice but not the same.
i don't get vegetarians. Humans are omnivores. which means they can't get everything they need from just meat or vegetables. it has to be a combination of both. it's not natural to have a vegetarian diet.

i tried rabbit in france, twas nice.
would like to try fresh rabbit as besbie...me bro goes ferreting abit and we both go shooting but we've never bought one home
