im a member of jjb (y)

£36, for that you get gym, pool, jacuzzi, and steam room, and other fitness classes as well :D

you can go to other ones around the country as well

sounds a good deal :D alas nearest one is 100 miles from me :( greens if not to expensive would be idle as i pass it on way to work. plan is to get up earlier and hit the gym for a bit before work in the morning as they open at 6:30am. cause i know when i leave off work last thing im gonna wanna do is go to a gym lol

can you not just nip in and see there prices

if i have a bad day at work, or need to relax, i like to just go to jjb and swim it off, or sit in jacuzzi and shrivel up for about 30 mins.

im hardly ever in the gym :D

cant at jjb, its a set gym price and with the amount of people that go there, i was quite lucky to get in :D

i did manage to haggle, and got the joining fee for free though (but only because i bought something in the shop) :p

Yes, I am a member of Great Park in Birmingham. Member for 7 years and am the secretary of the running club. I pay £52 per month and receive zero discount despite all of our team running with the Greens logo on our vests. If it were'nt for the fact the gym was 200 yards from my house I would look elsewhere. For a high profile gym it is the most disgusting, unhygenic hole you could ever pay good money to get in. The same bits of rubbish, litter remains in the same place as it has done for months. The staff have less idea about PT than John Prescott. I would never recommens our gym to anyone, including some of the scum that just walk in without a membership. I am on the members committee but still they have no interest in existing members no matter what we recommend. That's Great Park, elsewhere they may give a sh!t.

Judging by the local Bannantynes/ Living Well/ whoever owns the place these days, if they don't say upfront how much it costs, you can't afford it ;) I pay £199 a year at the local independent gym which is really friendly, personal fitness plan with regular updates and no intimidating people in lycra (except the few fat ones who really shouldn't be wearing it :yuck:) (y)

I joined JJB to meet new people, and because it was also new, and so clean and hygenic (y)

Its also a good place as it is only a few 100 metres down the road from work :D
