I've used this roundabout 100s of times before as its just up the road from me, but today someone blared their horn at me as they thought i was in the wrong lane to get to 'C', even though its the lane i always use and everyone else seems to use to get to 'C'. but having looked at it from an ariel view, i suppose it could be quite confusing... there are no roadmarkings or signs ether so i spose its open to debate.

So basically my question is, would you use lane A or B to get to C?

so are you saying this is your path?

excuse the **** line, too much coffee......

no, youve got the starting point right, but was in the righthand lane as i entered the roundabout on the inside, as i was exiting at the 5th exit, but just before the 4th and 5th exit, theres a set of traffic lights (lanes A and B)

Edit after your next post: I was refering to the red line in that post

Now youve mentioned your starting point, from original post it was unclear, i thought you was starting from where the A or B is on your original post i.e. the traffic lights

I think i would start in A and filter into B a couple of the turnings round and before the traffic lights, but wouldnt go the whole way round in B

i think johns got it, i think i understand where youve started and finished too...def start in the right hand lane of your entry, and stay in that lane going round, somewhere between teh 2 red arrows change lanes, so you are in B by the lights, then away you go....i think

Thats exactly how I would go round it, the most dangerous part is getting into the correct lane prior to leaving so I would signal in good time and leave lots of room around me, and be prepared to let morons undertake so I could move over safely. Of course on the bike its lane split all the way round on the back wheel, not when it's wet of course:)

the pissed, on the phone version......driving a X5....

My wife wouldn't let me have a X5 or Range Rover as she said I would look like a drug dealer or footballer. It is a Discovery 3, but we are in the countryside.

As for the phone, I only wish there was reception, if I ever breakdown (which is likely in a Land Rover) I could be waiting a long time before somebody passes by to help.

Actually the majority of cars are Police cars doing advanced driver training. Scares the hell out of you when they come up at 70mph and overtake on a country lane.
