I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that he isn't thinking you're best mates.....

Night before my 18th I went out for a curry with a few mates, when i came out & got in my car it refused to start (Fiat 125P) (probably because it'd been raining all evening & the electrics were susceptable to damp). Even trying to bump start it down a very long & very steep hill didn't get it going.
I ended up leaving it at the bottom of the hill & removing the battery, walking home with it (about 2 miles) and putting it on charge overnight.
woke up the next morning to 3ft of snow. Got my dad to drop me plus charged battery & a few tools off at the car. had to start by clearing all the snow off the roof and bonnet as well as a spot in front of the car. Stripped all the ignition bits, dried them off, inc removing, cleaning & gapping the plugs. I was frozen to the core but despite this, I was very happy to have solved the problem.
That night I went out on the lash with my mates (without the car) to celebrate my 18th.
Strangely, happy memories!
Chucked the best part of a tin of damp start into the 4 pots and the carb & she fired first time.

Re: What's made you smile today?

Driving towards the hospital today I saw an ambulance trying to get past the heavy traffic coming towards me, sirens screaming, blue lights and headlights flashing etc.
Tesco delivery truck pulls over to let the ambulance past but the woman in the car immediately behind decides to pull out around the tesco van - right into the path of the ambulance.
they threw out the anchors and very narrowly avoided a collision, she seemed completely oblivious to the whole thing - the only one for miles around who neither saw nor heard the ambulance.
I sat there smiling & as the ambulance passed, I simply threw my arms in the air.
Ambulance driver knew what i was thinking, I knew what she was thinking. None of which can be repeated here.

Re: What's made you smile today?

There really is some shocking driving saw something similar last night.... Police van on Blues came past me
(yes i saw him and pulled over just past a pedestrian crossing)

"He" then came upto a traffic lighted junction they had changed to green as he started his manoeuvre Which had about 3 cars waiting in each lane (one left and ahead the other right) and began to overtake on the wrong side of an Island (not really sure if they are allowed to do that) but as he did so the cars moved off and the front one in the cue almost came into contact with him... Good job he was been cautious

bit too much light flaring for it to be clear to see but you get the gist

Blue light vehicles are allowed to pass on the wrong side of a keep left bollard if they need to
