A friends Mum giving me a hard brush to 'clear the snow off my car'

I politely had to turn it down

Oh and I have a job interview for a job I really like the sound of :DCompletely out of my comfort zone for the job, so for the next 8 months it could be a good experience (y)

I had 2 cars to mot this month before I can get started on the Classic Panda.
Car 1, wife's Astra - thought I would have to replace rear calipers to sort out the handbrake, but £20 to a good guy and the handbrake is returned to perfect health, and the MOT is passed!
Second car, my completely gorgeous E38 (o=pics attached), which has the potential to cost a lot sailed through with just advisories for tyre wear! Yahoooooooo!!
Panda here we come! So happy:)

rang my mate to see if he had gone to work, he reckons his road was impossible for cars to drive down so he had day off, its single track road in next village.

as i had already prepared my car for cancelled school run i drove round to see him, had no problem on winter tyres :D
Which winter tyres did you buy eventually? Did you put them all round or just on one end?

Best colour for a BMW too ;).

We were about to replace the washing machine we inherited when we bought our house, a couple of years ago: as the front buttons and dial -- which had never worked properly... -- finally stopped working altogether, today.... :(

Working on the principle that logic can fix most(?) things, I stripped the front of the washing machine down, cleaned it up, rebuilt it (with the control board actually in the position it's supposed to be in... -- which it wasn't... -- and seated all the connectors properly...) -- the result being that we now have a fully-functioning machine for the first time since we moved in...! :woot:

I am currently utterly chuffed with myself. Half an hour's labour has saved us a few hundred quid. :D

It's a fantastic feeling when you can do that.
Our tumble dryer broke recently, and it wasn't old, but of course it was out of warranty. Some of the buttons weren't doing anything so i took the front off and found that behind the buttons is a stupid plastic arrangement of bits that look like an old Airfix kit, so when you push a button, a bit of plastic gets poked on to a micro switch, so inevitable the most used buttons were breaking the plastic. Pathetic engineering! I beefed the arrangement up somewhat with some thicker plastic and strong glue. Works better than ever now!!

Good for you...! The control board of the washer is a similarly feeble design... -- and I loved your description: it's spot on...! (y)

Had no problems with the Punto or the summer tyre's i've had on(y)

The Punto passed the brake test on the drive home today when someone in a Nissan Juke pulled out in front of me, while i'm doing 55-60 Mph(y)

I saw him at the junction as I came by; I thought he would pull out so I had my foot ready to slam on the brakes, good thing too...
