well you know, se does repay them with 6 eggs a week

really spending that much on a chicken, its mad. yeah it might be a pet, but living on beans..... well each to their own.

It must have been heart breaking though, i mean imagine you have a chicken you've loved for years and to have to sit there and watch it trying to peck aspirins for an overdose or dragging a piece of string and trying to get it hang over the coupe

After laughing yourself silly you'd feel a bit of compassion

i once did a chicken leg amputation myself, the bird lived several years after, and the total cost was nothing (unless you include the pliers). my chicken didnt get depressed, it was back to normal in a week, and the cat who's fault it was died shorty after from a gunshot wound to the head. it doesnt matter how many you get they still come back for more, we once got a dozen on a morning before school.


i had to kill a chicken i raised from 1 day old, it used to sit on my shoulder when i did home work or watched tv, then one day it caught newcastle disease and i had to break its neck and burn it. thats the harsh reality of animal husbandry, you dont go spending a fortune on a chicken, you kill it and get another one.

It's depressed cos it's on it's own. Chickens are supposed to live in flocks of at least 3 or more. I keep chickens in my garden.

Mad as afish, though to be fair i would remortgage my house if i needed to to pay for vets fees for my cats.
