Right on Jug!! (y) :D

I hope thats the last of that! Jeez does it matter anyway?

Caveat Emptor

Let the buyer beware.... always applies.

I like a good bit of chat about power and probably power outputs from certain setup's and have been very interested with the power outputs from the mark 2 punto's of late.

But when someone just throws a figure in (which has never been mentioned previously) that just gets me wound up. Ok he said estimated.... but where is that comming from? There is no previous examples or figures. Its widely acknowledged that 80-85bhp from a 1108 cinq with the right mods is possible, so with a cinq thats untested, with the right mods, for someone to estimate 85bhp is reasonable. I know this is a turbo, but there is no reason to quote 140bhp.

Doesn't matter Ross, I guess we take a more cynical view as we mature lol!

Let it go, the new owner will no doubt tell us ALL about it, truth always comes out.

My Uno has 45 bhp and my Cinq has 39 bhp. Fiat says so. SO THERE! :nerner:

P.S. My dad is 167 years old (have't seen him for 22 years but what the hell), my car has more rust than yours, my mum is still a page three model at 69 years old, my brother owns London, my sister owns Cornwall, I keep Osama Bin Ladan in my loft, I had a shiite so long it touched the water before it left my arse etc. etc. etc.

you sick puppy.

for the record h2per, i agree 140bhp is a very optimistic claim, i'm sure many people agree, and with no previous RR session to confirm it, it is not a claim i would personally have made. but there's no need to get excited. just let it go :)

Granted, there's not many HB 1242s about. You can always estimate the power though, which is what Alex did.

The vAD HB 1108 puts out 105-110bhp from their workshop. Now the 1242 is 10% more powerful than the 1242 so it would be fair to say that about 115-120bhp would be attainable. Take into account the headwork, 40mm TB (quoted as 10% increase) etc and 130-140bhp should be well within reach. OK, there's no conclusive proof but you would expect that ballpark figure...

There is a Dutch guy who posts in the CInq/Sei section fairly regularly who has a 155bhp 1242.

Modding doesnt work like that.... Its not add this to this and get this. Never is never will be.

I would love (and i might do) to get all the common tunning parts for the cinq (which i will probably do anyways) and go on the rollers and add them one at a time after running it stnd and show what each one increases. Then that would show exactly without any b/s. The figures may not be 100% (because every rollers are different) but it would show the typical increases.

As for the estimates, we will see. Alex aint the only one with a 1242 HB turbo. Its more than likely in the next few months there will be 2 more 1242 turbos. One high boost, one low boost.
