Hi all,

My phone has stopped working...

It just says No service all the time. Its a 1 year old Motorola Slthr. I swapped my sim into a mates phone and its fine.

Its confusing as if it cant pick up a signal, it normally says nothing, this time it just says 'No Service'

My dad suggested the phone had been blocked, but
a) how'd they do it?
b) Why does my sim still work?

Help!

what network? why would you think its blocked?

Looks like its a block as if it was a phone problem it doesnt say anything, is just blank. This says No Service and other people with O2 arn't having any problems.

Phone them or go into one of their shops...and enjoy the peace and quiet in the meantime

Rang them, they said there is nothing wrong with my acc. Asked a lot of security questions that I couldnt answer though as it was my mates sim card that I've had for 4 years. All I needed to know is was there a block on the account I hope they didnt tell me a lie as I couldnt asnwer security

Looks like I'm going to the O2 shop now.

i got this a few weeks after my insurane replacement arrived (I drowned it), thought it was blocked so went to the mobile shop and it was working again, they looked at me a bit funny so I went down the road to tesco's. didn't even get 50m from the mobile shop and it stopped again. so took it back and got yet another new phone

try looking at the expansys.co.uk forums and see if other users have this problem, or if there is a hard reset option (this will wipe everything and start the phone from fresh off the firmware-not something restore factory settings will do)

Well took it into O2, didnt have any of the receipt or stuff, they just scanned the phone and asked for ID.

Its now been sent off under warrenty to be repaired.

Easy, top notch service.

Last time I went into the other O2 shop in Northampton and some asian guy just kept repeating 'you dropped it?' every time I described how the keypad stopped working (a common fault apparently)

In the end I told him I didnt fking drop it and asked to speak to someone who could speak english.

DID yu get this sorted mate !

if not try this :

turn the fone on take the battery out and the sim card
leave off for 2 mins
then try inserting them
turn fone on and look for NETWORK SELECTION
select MANUAL SCAN (try a different network)
then when it fails try ur own network
