okay so ive had a leak spring in the bathroom (no puns!)
its the feed pipe to the cystern (sp) so this morning i turned off the water and left a tub under it too catch any water for me coming home.
so i come home with PTFE tape in hand but its still dripping  about 1 drip every 5 seconds.
now the waters off and theres no water coming from the taps.the cystern is empty as well? now my concern is i dont want to play with these connections if its still open to the mains yet surely it must be fed on the same system as the main stopcock?
its copper pipe going onto plastic so i dont want to overtighten the connection and the plastic bit shatters with mains pressure behind it

any plumbers in the house?

its bropably just water left in the pipes., try loosening it a little and see if it dripps faster., if theres still a feed to it the pressure will make it leak more once you loosen it.,

grrr, right bit the bullet and undid it.PTFE'd the offending part(its the metal to plastic join) but its still leaking :( i see silicone sealant has been lathered over it previously.
so do i replace this plastic bit? cant see any other solution as its seems to be coming out of the threads
