1) You don't know what they're escorting, running to or running from.
2) They stop, they become a target
3) You become a target, you die
4) The locals know that if they are on a phone whilst near troops they could be shot, the locals also know that they get out of the way of the troops, if they have to be tapped they should be paying more attention.
If I was driving that Humvee I would do exactly the same. So would the rest of you! It's self preservation. It's sad but it's also true.

Situation is very different!
At the end of the day, the locals know to keep out of the way, hundreds of US troops have died out there and you can't take risks.
If it was my life, the political impacts of pushing my way through to keep at speed and avoiding being bogged down mean nothing.
