What a joy to drive it yesterday.

Bin over it before, but that was caning the arse out of a metro GTa and my ibiza, to get over as quick as possible but yesterday was summat else.

Speed limit over it is now 50 mph, and I had the road to myself. No I didnt cane it over, I stayed between 40-50 and I gotta say, the stilo gave a much better drive like this. No excessive engine noise screaming at me, no aggressive up down gear changes with slowing down rather quick, just let it do its thing and it felt great, best bit of driving I have done over there and was cruising and enjoyed it, and the car.

When I have caned it over previously, I have found it fun but scary, exhausting and in no ruch to go over like a bat out of hell straight away, but yesterday, i just wanted to go back over it again, it felt proper! I just dont see the need to cane it over there.

Mind you all the accident signs are aimed at motor cylcists

It is often more fun to drive a bit slower but more smoothly, the time over the same distance wasn't actually that much longer no doubt. The other point is that Derbyshire police patrol it and the A6 to Matlock with the Police helicopter. No matter how good you are you can't out run that!

There were loads of speed camera signs but didnt see one copper, on camera or chopper on the run. Like I said I was on my own and it was great!

On a note about speed cameras, driving from glossop to manchester, noticed some of those signs that light up and tell you your going to fast if you are to fast, with some green camera type thing lurking in a bush- are they speed cameras?

well weve got theseround us and they just tell you your speed, if they are speed cameras im fooked and so is everyone else lol;)

Thing is previously I'd have though caning over it in a little fast and well hadnling car would be great, but now, just wallowing over it seems more fun and involving

Dont know about time to get over being different, been 5-7 years since I last went over, but one thing I do know is I didnt screw 20 quids worth of fuel going over it.

Did 200 mile from my house back to my house yesterday, only using just under 1/4 of a tank on my stilo

i prefer the cat to be honest but snake pass is good.

need to do snake pass agian and see what its like not yet done it in my bravo.

damn ive really got to get6 ooop norf...

all those great roads and no patch and beblasting along, sounds up, windows down, sunnies on and top gun sound track running

im gonna book a week of me thinks and head north for a driving holiday, hit the highlands aswell (y)

Just me that finds Wood Head Pass and Snake Pass a hassle then? Apart from the scenery, I enjoy nothing on it. Only 1-2 places to pass means you just get stuck behind somebody who will annoy you, be it a lorry or another car.

snake pass is just up the way from me, being a good old derbyshire country man hehe

live just off the A6 and my shops in matlock so know the A6 well and yeah it is patrolled by the chopper as its only 5 mins form my house to derbyshire headquarters.

every sunday in matlock its packed with motorbikers, like a tradition, hnece theres accident signs everywhere along the a6 and this area. its perfect for them to have a blast, challenging roads and exactly what superbikes were designed for, typical roads.

Dunc

yea there are motorbikes allways bombing around on woodhead they just spring up on you, gota be carefull not to knock them other the edge haha woodhead gets closed quite alot due to accidents and snow as its right high up in the Pennines. great view in the day. cant see a thing at night due to the fog ha!

not only do i have to head up and see the ut and van, but also the raods, result (y) :D

I nearly collided with a motorcylcist one sunday up rivington- as he over took someone heading towards me, on his back wheel- showing off.

I had to stop and he then nearly lost it and sped off, only for me to get grief from some jap bike riders watching for me being in the way and car drivers shouldnt go up there- go figure?

I dont tar all bikers with the same brush as i know some decent riders, but these plebs dont help the image

Once came back from Manchester over the Snake Pass in snow and ice, in the Capri. Scary is not the word! Rear drive + s**t tryes + ice + "interesting" Capri handling = fear. Bloody good road though, really must take the ST over it before I have to give it back! :D
