What are your best roads for a thrash? summers coming and im planning some road trips so i need good roads to hit.....
Post where it is, the road number, and what makes it cool. And what to look out for on it....
My Favourite so far is the A686 between Penrith and Alston over Hartside pass and the bit afterwards that leads into Hexham....or the other way round....what makes it cool? the variety of stuff and scenery....you'll be flying along mile long straights on valley bottoms then 20 minutes later be hanging onto a road on the edge of the moors tackling 180 switchbacks...main problems with it....tourists...bikers (go about 8:30 pm on a summer evening to avoid)...and if you run down from Hartside summit to Penrith at maximum attack with standard stoppers you'll be getting fade long before the bottom....but great scenery and great road!....What is everyone elses favourite?

Some road up by the lake district on the way to Whitehaven in Cumbria.

Was a two laned one way road that went up and down hills, humps into corners and hairpin's etc

Theres are few others around here and up the valleys, mountains etc.

A66? I love that bit of that road, I always manage to take the corners at at least double the speed suggested by the signage

Too many good roads round here to choose one, but Wigton-Caldbeck and Caldbeck to Carlisle and Keswick to Ireby are good routes :)

I wish i knew what road it was but i live in Wales lol it was a one off for me but the moment we got on there we knew we had to give it some. (i was following a mate to drop a car off up there) we both said we would love to live by it.

the bristol ringroad (A4174)

this is the most insane peice of road ever, in the evening and hot summer days its packed with superbikes and modded/fast cars going full stick.

long straight followed by round about followed by long straight, rinse repeat people go round it at insane speeds (i mean topping the car's and bikes out)

you dont have any breaks by the end mind!

My favourite road's a little country backlane about a mile from home, lots of tight 90 degree plus bends and just over a cars width wide, chicanes, crests, it's like 2 and a half miles of a miniature WRC tarmac stage :p

either across sailsbury plain, you ca go dtraight across or if your feeling adventerous take one of the roads off, ive spent hours and hours just driving around there

or the run from my house to camber sands... a chunk of motorway that goes to fast a roads with long strriaghts, rises and falls and sweeping turns then into a proper entertainingbit of country lane type fpr road, switch backs, 90 degree turns, hedge rows to open fields you can see across, train crossings (you can jump on then :))

or when i went mudkarting with the Boozers up in doncaster we had a superb drive across alot of country side, nice and open and flat fields for the roads to litterally wind their way through, you could see what was coming so raci8ng lines and overtakes a plaenty... then i had to turn around as i got a touch carried away and overtook everyone and scarpered into the distance

You get a lot of roads like that around here, that's why I love driving round this way.

My fave road is the St Ives to St Just road, it has also been voted Britains most scenic road, winding along the north coast of Cornwall. Its ace when the suns setting.(y)

I like driving in the trough of bowland/yorkshire dales.pedal to metal roads:slayer: :slayer:

Hell yeah.

Ive cooked the brakes on my 1242 Cinq in the Trough before now, as well as nearly having a Tipo sideways... Oh and taking bridges at full whack isnt advisable (I found out in a Ka)!
