hmm seeing as I redid the Indexes after the install I'm not sure thats going to help a great deal (it took 2 hours when I ran it roughly this morning as well I think).

BTW disabling search also means people loose the new topics links etc too for finding new posts.

If you want to look at new topics, use your User CP - that should give you your subscribed topics list, and latest posts in each thread.

I'm not seeing anything slow about it, Stuart what does a traceroute and ping to the server look like from where you are ? all the pages are loading here for me pretty much instantly and I'm on the other side of the world as well.

Hmmm, maybe a slight improvement, but not as fast as other forum - I have been using this connection on internet banking, plus other surfing, and no speed decrease noted there.

I will do more tests once back on home machine - that is on a Pipex 1Meg DSL, unlike this 512k BT DSL through a network; plus I have more tools to test at home.
