With all due respect, I believe that Quinn Direct are total ****e.
Fine, if you have never had to have dealings with them and it was just a matter of handing over the money for them to insure your car then they are fine.
I had an accident back in December. Some guy cut an island (essentialy went right as opposed to going round) and hit the passenger side of my car as I pulled a giveway. I am only third party fire and theft, and I had only passed my test 5 days before the accident, so creditability, was not going to look good no matter who insured me, and I accepted that, but Quinn really did take the **** when it came to dealing with my claim.
First of all, they asked me if anyone was injured and after telling them no, my case manager insisted that I get all my friends who were in the car at that time to sign forms saying that they would not claim against quinn any time within the next three years relating to that accident. When I said that I would not do this on moral grounds as who knows what could have come up from an accident that severe, they threatened to terminate my insurance and asked me to write god knows how many statements to try and undercut the creditability of any of my friends who tried to claim.
Worst of all, they found me 100% liable. When I asked them if they had looked at the CCTV they said they hadn't and wouldn't as I had pulled a giveway and that was all that mattered. Then fact that he went the wrong way round the island was irrelevant and they quite forwardly just asked me to drop it and let it rest. They dealt with me so unprofessionaly I was appalled, they never once even tried to fight my case and were only interested in getting the case out the way (He had about £50 worth of damage to his front bumper where as he had completely creased the side of my car in).
Useless insurance company, and the saying "you pay for what you get" applies. Direct Line, or one of the major injurers who really don't **** about I would say is your best bet. Providing you have not already become insured.
