Wheres the best place to insure a 1242 sei under my dads name? I am 18 btw!

have you phoned anyone,looked at the list of insurers in this section,tried confused.com?
like so many insurance threads we get the easiest way to answer this is get quotes.
it is free after all

Confussed.com wont give me an online quote due to modifications. Provident seem to be the best but as its an online quote it thinks the car is a 1108.

ive had mod'd quotes off confused.try removing you as a named driver to see what it gives

ecar insurance will do modifications.

Prepare for an increase though

Mines with HIC, IIRC they are 19 and over but not sure give em a try.

If it's your dad's car, get him to sort his own insurance I have to put a full day aside to ring them all up and he's best to write down the list of modifications so he has it in front of him or like me, he'll end up forgetting something.

i think he means he wants to insure it under his dads name as he cant afford it in his own name? ecar have been the best for me.. or try bell insurance on your own name..

insured me for 1350 on provisional license with a punto 1.2 16v and im only 17

provisional is different though,tends to be viewed as a lower risk as your supervised

When i first got insurance, i was 18, with a 1242 punto, on my own tpft. 750 quid with asda (pass plus too)

As rich says, thats how much your gonna be paying for that at your age, insurance companies don't like engine conversions its as simple as that. A turbo cinq would cost less to insure than a 1242 conversion..

gex's first year of insurance (can't remember if he was 17 or 18 on the time) on a 1242 sei was circa £2300
