I'll be taking out insurance soon and currently have no mods on the car. I'm thinking of putting some alloys on (probably about 1-2 months into the policy) and was wondering whether it would be cheaper to declare them when I take the policy out (to save on the admin fee charged for any changes to the policy) rather than ringing up the insurers later on when they'll probably charge me the fee.
The company will just replace modified parts with standard ones, so basically if I were to make a claim when I had alloys declared (but hadn't actually got them on) would an insurance company be reluctant to pay out/void my policy or anything because my car would not be as described?
I've heard things about companies not paying out when mods have not been declared but what about the other way round?
Cheers.
