Mercedes C Class Insurance

So until I find the right Car for me, I don’t have one at all, and I don’t even have my full license yet as I’ve just been driving around with my dad for the last 3years(on and off), problem is now I’ve been doing lessons and I’m nearly passed, he’s said I should just drive his car with him and when I pass I can have his car

Problem is... it’s a Mercedes-Benz C class convertible, it’s a 3.2litre engine. No insurer wants to insure a 20yo on a car like that [emoji28] great showpiece for a “first car” though despite it actually being my second

So my question is, is it worth forking out £2k for a new Car and then probably another £2k for insurance.

Or

Try and find somewhere that’ll insure me on the Merc for hopefully (a lot) less than £4K per year?

Hi,
Yes insurance is an issue for any driver that has recently passed their test regardless of their age. You will struggle to obtain affordable insurance on the Mercedes I would imagine until your have had a full licence for at least 12 months if not longer.
