Hi All,
Just wondered if anyone runs a Brava on Classic insurance?
My 2000 car is a second car that will do very limited mileage and since it is over 15 years old, a second car and only does the low miles I wonder if anyone has done it before.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts...
Chris.

Hi Chris

Whilst looking into insurance for my cars, one insurer told me my 1994 Cinquecento was not and never will be considered a classic car because 'that type of car just aren't'... Ouch!

Like you, my car will be just used for odd days out and pottering. There are many 80s and early 90s cars that are approaching collectable (if not quite classic) status and starting to be cherished by their owners.

I don't know what age a car has to be before qualifying for classic insurance. I would have thought maybe 21 years- which gets us back to 1995.

My first car in 1990 was a Morris Minor, which at the time was 22 years old and therefore the same age as the Fiat Cinquecento I currently own!

Grab a copy of Practical Classics or Classic Car Weekly from the supermarket and you'll find lots of classic car insurance people advertise in there.

Let us know how you get on as the outcome will be useful to other people.

Hi chris , Adrian flux might be worth a try , I was looking for a change of insurance as my previous company said my 1998 mk 1 punto gt was only worth £250 , changed to Adrian flux ang got an an agreed value of the cars worth ??

Thanks for all of your replies/suggestions. I will give CKI a go too.
I would like to get it on a classic or very low mileage policy if poss as it does not need to do any miles just the odd trip out for pleasure, this is not my daily driver and since I am nearer 50 with an exemplary driving record, I really don't see that I should be needing to pay very much in insurance.
Thanks again to all who have replied,
Chris.

Neither would any other driver if they had their way ;)
I suppose so, but I'm not a sprog I have a perfect driving record and I want low mileage classic cover...in a fair world that should put me in a very low risk box and reflect in a quote....but I know that some insurance companies do not operate in a fair world.:)
