I've discovered that little Fiats are addictive- one is never enough! I have a Seicento and hope to add a Cinquecento to keep it company. I guess quite a few people on here have more than one car on the go, but are there any good multi-car policies out there?

Thanks guys.

Steve

I have 2 cars (temporarily) until I flog the Nemo to We Buy Any Car and focus on the Tipo. Insurance company is currently covering both cars with the same no claims for an extra £12 per month compared to the cost for just the Nemo... Which isn't as bad as I thought.

I'll still be looking to change insurers in April when my policy runs out, though...

We'd be very happy to quote you too when the time comes. :)

Admiral, Aviva and Direct Line to name just a few all do multi car policies.

Make sure you're getting a good level of cover by using Defatqo - www.defaqto.com/stars

Excellent, thanks very much for the tips. That gives me a good few insurers to try.

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try for multi car insurance. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

I hope you guys in the U.K. appreciate how easy it is to insure multiple cars!

Here in Ireland, I made the mistake last November of buying and registering a second car in my name.
Existing insurer (who also insures my house): 2 cars on one policy? NO
2nd policy with mirrored NCB? NO
2nd policy with 0% NCB? NO, not Co. policy to quote new customers with 0% NCB. :bang:

Tried another Insurer I was previously insured with for a car and have over 10 years motorcycle insurance with . No,No,No again. But was told if I had named driver experience they might be able to quote me, but it would be expensive c. gross premium + 60% loading (i.e. Euro 1,500 - 2,000)!!! When I informed them I actually had 40 years as a named driver on a relative's policy, they then decided it was, after all, not Co. policy to quote new customer's with 0% NCB. :bang:

I have 40 years claim free driving experience, zero penalty points, zero convictions/fines. I made it clear I only needed cover for myself only on both cars, so I'm not attempting to 'front' for anyone.
Last year Comp. cover on a 1.4 90 hp Bravo (i.e. non-turbo) cost E. 480
This year's renewal is E.560.

I have tried multiple Co's here in Ireland incl. RSA,Axa,Allianz,Aviva.

Still can't sell the 2nd car I couldn't insure as it can't be driven to the test centre. Can't be taxed either. :bang:

That's interesting. I've not tried Chris Knott yet but Aviva and Adrian Flux only permit the 'no claims' to be with one of the cars, which I guess is standard industry practice. You'd think that the 'no claims' would be 'with' the driver rather than the car...

Which insurer are you using?

Steve

Aviva... To be fair, they swapped the no claims to the Tipo and then extended it to cover the Nemo on the understanding that the Nemo was my second car, would be on the drive most of the time and would be sold relatively quickly. Not sure the same premium would have applied if I'd said I was actively using both cars...

Not really no, as have a crash in one car, and it'd then mess the NCD up on all the cars you have if you've more than one.

Most insurers mirror NCD if you've been claim free and have the vehicle with the NCD with them.

If you've been claim free for 12 months we'll mirror your bonus from the other car so you benefit from the discount on this new one. Please give us a call - have you seen we're also running a competition at the moment - https://www.fiatforum.com/insurance/436496-contact-chris-knott-quote-win.html ?

The great thing is that you get a further discount with each car you bring to the policy and when it comes to renewal time, instead of having to keep track of different policies in different places, they all renew together under one policy at the same time.

Just to conclude this thread, I'm now insured with Chris Knott, so thanks very much to them.

I've only insured the Seicento for now as I want to spend some time servicing and refurbishing the Cinquecento before it takes to the road. At least when it's ready to go I can take out insurance on it and have the NCD from my main policy mirrored.
