Hey guys.

we have a bit of "fun" here with insurance

the house i live in was built after the other houses on the street. the house has been standing for 30 years (built in 1985). next door has a number, we have the same number with an "A" at the end.

insurance phone and websites do not recognise the "A" so insurance always tries to go next door when we get quotes. whe we do get quotes go to next doors address the price can be up to £400 cheaper!

our address/house appears on the royal mail database.

next door's house wall is less than 10 ft from our house wall.
we also have no mortgage.

as far as i go. i have been driving for 4 years with 2 cars. i have 4 years no claims bonus. i have had NO accidents, NO convictions, and NO penalties. i have never even been pulled over for a spot check yet!

no other persons (all family members) living at my address has had any insurance claims, convictions or penalties within the past 10 -15 years

we have not claimed from ANY KIND of insurance in the past 10-15 years.
we have never failed payments, and never had money issues with insurers.

i have had a quote for my fiat panda 4x4 sisley (the green one) for as little as £190 through next doors address. however the cheapest quote with my address was around £500 with no mods declared.

now i am looking to insure Project Fallout. with no mods declared i am getting quotes of around £700!!! for an old fiat panda!

does anyone know what the hell is going on? :bang::bang::bang:

any help on this would be great..

just seems like an excuse to get more money from you.

it is not just me that has issues with high insurance costs, my mum also gets it too and she has been driving since 86 with no crashes or infractions!

she also has like 20 credit cards and always paid them back.

somehow i think the system is flawed.

just seems like an excuse to get more money from you.

Its risk calculation and pricing, its how any form of insurance and premium calculating works, some insurance companies just use different rating factors to others.

By saying this you're basically saying that anything that doesn't work in someones favor is an excuse to get more money surely?

somehow i think the system is flawed.

Everyone does unfortunately. From the other side of the fence though I can confirm that it isn't.
