good for you mate, makes me feel so much better I paid £1500 3rd party f+t ;)

but yeah adrian flux were great to speak to and offered me the cheapest insurance of ~15 companies

From day one all my insurance has been fully comp. For what you get, for the cost of 3rd P f+t i really don't see the point in paying it. Fully comp can be cheaper for people these days than 3rd party. Luck of the draw i suppose, but i'd never have anything other than fully comp.

This always confuses me, seen a few people do it on here. Why not offer the best price to start with? Rather than having to waste time with it all.

have to go through every thing, like check the competitions quote has same extras, same mileage, same excess, option to drive other cars, guaranteed hire car and so on, it maybe that the quote they have given has things you don't need, so they can then knock them off and reduce price.

:yeahthat:

Insurance isn't about the best price!! Getting the correct cover is essential (y)

Exactly - take direct line's ad..."If you make a claim for an accident that is not your fault and the driver of the car that hits you is not insured, you will not lose your no claims discount or have to pay any excess."

Really? because I was under the impression that this was one of the reasons why I was giving you much of my hard-earned.
This, then, gives the impression that some other insurers say "tough luck, the other guy has no insurance therefore YOU lose".

Well that's correct and how insurance works, if costs cannot be recovered, then it goes down against yourself.

Direct Line isn't the only one who have an uninsured driver promise though.

Because insurance providers are out to make money like any other business. If they can get away with charging a higher premium then they will. You pay a premium for being Lazy, you reap rewards for chasing lower premiums and speaking to your insurers.
