Long story short they took a deposit off me back in August for £50 as I didn't have the money in to pay the rest so I had 3 days to sort it, which of course i did.

Few weeks pass and I get a letter saying I owe them that extra money, ring the. Up and I'm told it was paid and I'm fine, I get another letter, call them and it's the same story.

I've been away for a couple of weeks, got a letter saying its been cancelled, letter was dated 24/11 and it said my insurance was cancelled 12/11! They'd cancelled it without telling me and sent me a letter almost 2 weeks later.

Done some digging and it turns out the payment did go out but went back into my account, I hadn't realised as it was close to when my wage when in.

Anyway, I don't have Internet banking so upon getting the letter I rang them up straight away both times to be told its a system error and to ignore it as I'm all up to date, next thing I know they've cancelled my insurance, waited 2 weeks and sent me a letter.

What would you do? I'm really annoyed as I know if I'd have gotten pulled I'd have been stuck with points a fine and recovery and impound fees. Insurance companies would be the first to throw the book at us if we messed up!

Still though, I got nearly 6 months insurance for £50

doesn't surprise me that, a mate of mind had exactly the same with them, do think because of the way it had been cancelled he lost that years no claims, did think that was a bit harsh

That sucks, I'm happy to have paid pennies for half a years insurance though, just got a years cover with performance direct for just under £500 :D

co-op or co-operative eco ins? they have 2 brands.

Just to check, did you notify your new company that you had a policy cancelled due to non payment. If not I would, with the new CUE database (underwriting database), insurance companies exchange a lot of info and I wouldnt want you to get stung by it.

Not sure, yeah I told them, they admitted fault and said it wouldn't be a problem, didn't seem to be with the new insurer so all is good, finally a good thing about turning 22 and getting old lol
