I've got my insurance due in a few weeks time so I called my insurance company who gave me a re-newal price.

1st off my insurance company said that all car insurances have risen by 40% this year due to all the claims etc.

I got quoted £455 for my 100HP with my mods which I thought for my age of 40 & a group 5 car was way to high. I'm off to compare the meercat.com, looking under £300 for a better price.

Modified car? Speak to a modification friendly insurer, you wont find any/many of these on price comparison sites.

Ollie, I've just run a quick quote on your website and it's coming out about £400 less than I'm currently paying! Guess who I'll be calling April when renewal is due?

Best plan is to shop around as you are doing. Try and do as many comparison sites as you can, and you may as well give Sky a ring as they asked so nicely!

Your premium may well go up a bit but I am sure you can get it way, way down from a 40% increase. Renewal prices should always be taken with a pinch of salt.
