Hello Gents,

after one years no claims , on average is there a percentage that your insurance quote drops?

at the moment im paying 3 grand and iv never had any convictions speed cameras or anything,

im very close to my 1 years no claims, at the moment i can aford the 3 grand because iv struck lucky with a well paid job for a 18 year old.

but as i get older i want to know if ill be able to move out before im 40 ;p

anyone got any ideas?

im with liverpool victoria insurance. My car is a MK2B active sport fiat punto 04 plate.

a general rule of thumb is your insurance will go down with a years no claim by at least one company

remember the one your with now may not give the best renewal just because it was cheap last year

closer to the time get your self on the comparison sights and do quotes with everything how it should be except put 1 years no claim

see who the best is and then when it comes renewal time ring your company up and say blah blah is offering me this can you beat it if they can brilliant, if they cant then change companies simples :)

Yeah, everyone in my family is on the same insurance company and everyone at work. well except my dad because of his privous convictions.

we have the M.D of the company who contacts us, because we get good deals because we have over 20 people with the company.

i just wounderd if anyone could give me a ruff figger of what it could drop down to after 1 years no claims.

or an example of how much theres was in the first year and how much it was after one year.

My Micra insurance went down nearly 50% with 1 years ncb, my renewal is today, on a 1.6 Marea :).

It depends on different things. My insurance is confusing at times. I have 0NCB (not crashed, I just always change insurers a few months before my renewal date) but when I do quotes with 3 years like I should have it barely changes. Yet I can get insured on a group 14 car for £900 and my 1.2 is £1100.

As jip0 said do some quotes nearer to the time and try and haggle with your current insurer.

i dont want to sound like a dick but your not getting a good deal on your insurance and if your not willing to change company then your never gonna get the best deal and also there is no way anyone can give you a figure by how much it will drop per years no claim except for the company

OK, what insurance company will quote me cheaper ? im guessing your first year wasnt 3 grand?

what insurance company are you with. i will try get a quote today with them

cant say for definite you need to use confused.com etc

i got insured for £800 and something i think it was (its much cheaper on provisional) then when i passed my test it went up to 1400 i think it was, that was quinn

renewal time quinn quoted me £880 i think it was which turned out to be cheapest but i still checked that was with 1 years no claim bonus

my most recent renewal which was a few months ago quinn quoted me £1200 .

on the comparison sites elephant and admiral were top with like a 20 pound difference i think that was £750 or around there and there sister companies

i done another quote with my mum and step dad on the policy and it brought it down to £620 still with elephant and admiral

i rang up both companies to see if i could get it down more but they couldn't unless i did multi car policy or one of them bonus accelerator polices

i choose neither my parents didn't want to change and the accelerator polices no claims are worthless elsewhere

so im now with elephant and my quote was £620 with elephant

its also cheaper to pay annually over monthly

i dont have anyone else on my insurance it is soaly my insurance no1 is on it as the main driver or even on it at all, I just called quin they said they would email me the correct ammount but in the first year for my car it would of been 2500-3000 with no1 else on my insurance. im surrounded by lots of ruff council estates in meanwood , the guy even sighed when i gave him my post code and he put it into his system lol he said with 1 years no claims i would be looking at 1600-1800 so its not that bad

i dont understand why yours is so low tho. i remember seeing a pic of ur car outside ur yard tho it looked like a very nice house. the 1 with black gates at the frount?

Ah this thread makes me laugh!!

OP use a comparison site or two and punch your details in. You are unique and no-one an say how much you insurance will go down or rise.

You can't company yourself to others with the same car etc because everyone lives in different places and everyone is different. Just use a comparison website or pick up the phone ;)

having people on your insurance can sometimes help, its worth running it through a comparison site to double check and there is nothing illegal about it as long as they are not the main driver of the car,

your house has nothing to do with it, its the post code that counts and im surrounded by a lot of car crime!

Im 22 now, had my license since feb 2010, got my one years no claims on the car, insure has dropped 2k with certain companies, yet stayed the same (4.5k) as last year with others, adrian flux want 3.8k, Aviva with a £450 excess and 10k miles a yr policy was 2k bob on, not got a clue how this works because I have a quote for a 59plate 1.6Jtdm Mito top spec for £1600, bit bizarre but hey ho, can't not pay it now can I

License is clean BTW, not been pulled for anything, and the car is the 1.4 16v dynamic, so not a pocket rocket either, unlike the alfa i have been quoted so little on, just wish I didn't owe silly money on the car Id swap it in a heartbeat....im saying this in a sound proof bunker as we all know how temperamental our Italians get when they know we are talking about other cars :D

Was funny actually, tried getting an IKube quote and putting my nanna on it dragged it down 400 quid.... Haha!

Then my Renewal came through...Dayum was i happy i found this company!

Not always. I wanted to do that when I was with one call (as I'd always believed it was cheaper) but I was told I would have to pay an 'admin fee' which would end up working out £50 dearer whereas I could save £50 by agreeing to their monthly plan - go figure.
