How to get cheap insurance?

T reg fiesta would cost me say £500 to buy - £2700 to insure (3rd party), so ok i have the bravo on finance but its still cheaper to insure fully comp

Proberly been said already:
I've been after cheaper insurance for nearly 3 years now, and i've found a few trends with quotes from over 100 different places, my list is not accurate for every person but for me i have found what changes what etc:

1. Millage up to 4,000 miles (up to 20% discount)
2. Parked over night - on drive way or garage (~5% discount)
3. Post code (up to 50% discount - a real pain for me )
4. Adding people to your policy with alot of years driving (second drivers etc only) - can't use these as main drivers if it's your car and your the main driver.
5. Fully comp with excess > £350 (around 15% discount)
6. Build your no claims (y)
(not for everyone but i don't involve my insurers when i had a crash (not my fault, i was rear ended at the lights) so i had the choice to leave them out of it, this meant, in the eyes of the insurers, i have never made a claim. Helpful becuase i tried to get a quote with a history of 1 claim (If i had claimed here) and my quote tripled :(
7. Get a smart box fitted - not for everyone, if you drive quick (not fast as such but brake hard, accelerate hard etc this will increase your quote)

8. BIG ONE. Shop around, barter with the companies saying who does it cheaper, they have deals they can give you to reduce the cost of insurance.
Low millage scheme is one that Admiral does (up to 4,000 miles)

Hope this helps someone. And please add to this list if you have found more tips(y)
