Was parked up in my local sainsburys and was hit in the back right of the car by a mercades.

The woman driver accepted all blame. Wasn't mine as I was fully in marked bay with engine of. Strangely the 3 immediate bays either side were empty so can't think how she did it

The damage is scuffed paintwork and broken exhaust bracket. No broken panels. However will get the suspension looked at as it could have done unseen damage to the rear shock.

Is it worth going through my insurance and lose no claims or should I ask her to settle out of insurance? If she refuses I would go to insurance.

I don't want to spend my money on the car seen as I am selling it. But obviously because of the worth less than valued at.

Personally i wouldnt go through insurance due to it will cost a lot more next time you insure than it probably will to fix it this once, if you clam you will be paying more over the next couple of years. If she does refuse to settle out of insurance then let them take over

It's her fault, go directly through her insurance co and you won't loose your ncb. You wouldn't loose it going through yours either if her fault, just easier to go through hers directly.

i would still try and settle it outside insurance tell her it will work out cheaper for both of you, if she doesn't want to do what mep says

but its your word against hers now so she would have to admit to it to the insurance company

Took car to garage, suspension fine, bumper repaired and resprayed (cant tell ) and exhaust bracket replaced.

all in cost £50 including time to fix.

called up the woman and said that i wont be taking it through insurance, but asked for bills to be payed as good will. (mentioning that if it wasnt then i would call her insurance... ).

she's sending a cheque for £75. when i only asked for £50 as well. .

She did ask what she was supposed to do about the blue paint mark on her Mercedes.... :bang:

Local garage i always use if i need any work good discounts for repeat custom. only charged 30mins work for the bracket.

i did recomend them to her, but she wants to take it too and offical Mercades garage. so they'll replace the whole front bumper to make more money, meaning she'll claim insurance most likely and lose her NCB. So its Win Win for me
