I was having this discussion with Russ12 and Freebo today on the yorkshire italia meet and wanted your thoughts.
If you had a car and declared an induction kit to the insurance but took it off to improve fuel economy but crashed with the standard air box on, would you still be insured? The reason i ask is because your car is not what is on the insurance papers so technically its like not declaring the induction kit but having it on when you crash.
Whats your thoughts?

Its questionable. Similar to mine and its alloys, has alloys for 6 months or the year and steelies for the other 6. Went to declair them on this policy, but they wern't fussed as they were and OEM option form factory.

Yeah say if you declare alloys to insurance and have to pay extra for them but say you swap to steelies to get the alloys refurbed or something, are you still insured? Just wanted to know other peoples thoughts because im really not sure on this one lol

technically you have to tell them that you will be running steelies for however long

how ever you could probably get away with it

i mean say a little old lady buys a car from someone and that person put after market wheels on that little old lady probably wont know or care and insures it without declaring mods

what happens then if she has an accident?

All depends what you tell insurance when they ask about if the car is modified. Say 'no' and your screwed, say 'not that I'm aware of' like me and that's a different story
