Any one else have this problem with stupidly high rates ?

How much does Pass Pluss knock off your insurance?

Surely you must have known that insurance costs where going to be high for new (and I guess your young) drivers?

My eldest's best quote was £3.5k
With pass plus under his belt he has just paid a shade over £2k

It was always said by the DSA that completing Pass Plus+ should result in something like a 10 - 15% saving. The idea being that the saving on insurance premuims should cover the cost of the Pass Plus course but what you're talking about is saving something like a third of the cost which is incredible.

Someone posted a thread the other day about learners being taken on the motorway and given basic training as part of their lessons

Does this mean pass plus is on borrowed time if the motorway training when you're learning comes into fruition?

£2400 without passplus
£1100 with passplus

17 nearly 18 when i paid the £1100 on a mk1 punto 55s

Well worth doing

Mine was £1800 for the first year fully comp, for my 1.2 gp

When i renew it will be £800!!! Turned 21 and 1 years no claims

But that is with a 240 pound deposit working out at around 840 per year with the interest

and thats with my alloys declared

SX is 300 pounds cheaper to insure than the Sporting even though the engine is the same....

i pay all at once

it would be 770 if i payed in a lump sum

My passplus knocked my first years insurance down from £2500 to 1700. second year it also took a couple of hundred off 3rd year did nothing. My missus looked into it but didnt effect her insurance so didnt bother.

Mine just counted as one years no claims.

Proper no claims too, at the end of my first year I transferred both years to Adrian Flux and didn't mention the PP

renewed mine today 735 or 58 pound a month
