Yes but if you read underneath, it says read the terms and conditions.

The terms are that you have to be 25 or above....

i just looked in the book and it doesn't say anything about being over 25 just that if its stated on my certificate then i can and also some other things but nothing to do with age

yeah but on my certificate it says i can so i dunno

Should be ok.

Certificate will specifically state if its not applicable to policy holder, or simply won't mention it.

If its on Cert then it should be ok ;)

Yeah, like mine did.

Try ALL the sites, Confused.com, gocompare.com, Tescocompare etc, then try phoning the ones that give you the best quote.

Try adding a female as a named driver as well.

if i where to do that i wouldnt be covered if a have a prang :( as i would be using the car all the time, the adding the 2nd drivers knocks about 700 off the price so that the only reason.

You thinking about adding yourself as a named driver and fronting, being policy holder and adding others as named drivers is ok (y)

As others have said, as long as your policy holder, you can have anyone else as a named driver and be legal. I added my mum to my policy, saved me around £150, and shes never driven my car, and doubt she ever will lol.

i would advise checking with and without adding people as named drivers, in my case it added like 20quid to the total to have my mum on it which i thought was kinda stupid but hey ho

this may help :)

am 19 female with a 1. sei but its my first year and diamond covered me for £1260 fully comp 10 months, because am on a bonus accelerator plus, which might be worth you getting.

your insured for just 10 months but get 1 years no claims, given there are no claims :p

just work out if it works cheaper for you, as they put the 10 month prices up slightly, but you can then get to 1 years no claims quicker, also check that you will receive the certificate that's valid if you move to a different company after the first 10 months

hope i helped :)
xx

Thanks for the reply, Diamond is only for females unfortunately :/ but i see what your saying.

Quinn were great for me, £1700 for my punto at 17 years old. Plus back then you got DOC (drive other car) policy which I use ALL the time. But now they have bumped up new policy takers to 25 years old haa

I tried Quinn and they quoted me £3720.83 :bang: !

To the OP - that is a question that none of us will be able to answer as there are a lot more factors than age, gender and vehicle to take into account.

Do all the usual price comparison site, ring around a few of the providers that don't use them (Aviva etc). Play them off against each other, you may be high risk but they're going to get a lot of money out of you so they'll still try to offer a low rate without leaving them too out of pocket.

I've done all the comparison sites; Go compare - £2962.18:bang:, Money Supermarket - £3631.19(n), Confused - £2962.18:mad:.

Use moneysupermarket,Compare the market etc tell em its kept in a garage/kept at a secure work place car park and sometimes fully comp can be cheaper than tpft also raising your excess lowers the price to so if you know you aint gona claim then boost it up to £1000 ha ha BUT still depends on your area, job etc if your car has any mods dont EVER tell them 0_0

I've done all the comparison sites; Go compare - £2962.18:bang:, Money Supermarket - £3631.19(n), Confused - £2962.18:mad: and ive tried all that too.

oh yea also if its a old car lower the price when it asks the value of your car unless of course it already fills it in

It's an 04 reg but i see what your saying.

Dom - it might be worth looking at fully comp cover too!! I've noticed (for me) that the cost is either fractionally higher (about £40/£50 a year - or less than a pound a week!!), or exactly the same - in which case it'll be worth your while considering it!!

I've had a look at that and it seems to be going up to around £4500!!

Quite, if you'd read my post that you quoted I suggested this as well. Be honest with them too, tell them what the cheapest quote you've had so far is and what it includes and ask them to beat it, even £2,000 will be better than the quotes you've had so far!

DirectLine seemed good for my first year of insurance on a 1.3 8v fiesta, 700 quid. :)
