Quinn Insurance

This is just risk reduction, the govt. has forced them in to admin so they can investigate the books properly and they don't feel it appropriate to leave the tax payer here (under the insurance guarantee scheme) open to "foreign" risks. They're still taking new business in Ireland.

I would expect Sean Quinn to either provide the funding to be allowed take the group out of admin or it to be sold to someone else very quickly; they'll re-open the books for the UK then. They're VERY popular in NI so they won't want to lose that.

I used them last year but they never seem cheap on renewals.
so just hope you dont loose your existing policy.

This is from the administrators statement found on Quinn website, dated from 31 March.
"With effect from 30 March 2010 the company has ceased to write new business and to make renewals of policies in the United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland). Accordingly when your policy expires the company will not be in a position to renew it"

MUCH later than expected, Quinn can now write new motor business for anyone (took provisional licences back last week) across the UK. This includes renewing policies if MEP hasn't done his yet!

They're website still has the statement saying they will only take on provisional holders, take it this is a recent update? lol

If you're only interested in Quinn for driving other cars at a younger age, you may well be pretty annoyed. Their website now says you must be 25 to have that benefit, inline with everyone else.

Ah, I'm going to ask them just to renew my 'current' policy as it is. Will ask if it will include any changes to my current one. If they say yes, I'll cross that bridge then, and hope I can add it at cost, if they say no then great, unless it turns up changed and then I'll kick off.

Please let us know how you get on :)

Although my renewal isn't doe for a few months yet lol

I hope they do still remain the cheapest - and don't increase too much...otherwise my insurance will probably be going upwards :(
