Hey all,

I'm getting a Mk2 1.2l 8v at the end of April and want to make some aesthetic changes to begin with and wonder what the insurance effects will be (what I need to declare and what difference it will make in cost).

-Rear tints
-Front and rear de-badge
-Standard Mk2b alloys
-50mm-ish drop

Also, what's the 10% saving all about through FF?

I don't need guides and advice on what/how just yet, just insurance advice. Cheers.

You don't need to tell the insurance about the de-badging or the MK2B wheels (because there genuine Fiat OEM parts.

Only tints & Drop you will have to declare from that list.

its upto 10% discount with Chris knot? ( i think) for being a member of the forum, Adrian flux also do it.

Yeah sorry i posted in ICE forums first then realised and assumed this was the right place. I didn't even realise there was an Insurance forum - fail on my part!

I know it's quite a generalisation but is it a heavy cost increase for tints and drop?

Call some insurers and ask them. Tell them you are thinking of buying a car with whatever spec and dont want to get caught out.

Seemples as the insurance advert says.

Yes you do! You need to tell them of any changes especially the wheels! (optional or non optional)

im with quinn and the only thing that MIGHT put your insurance up in that list is the lowering

i tried a load of quotes with and without mods ect and found out that for aesthetic changes they dont put it up just for engine mods

still double check everything

Cheers guys. Ill just tell them about everything and see what they say - better to be safe than sorry. I was mainly wondering the amount i would be looking at extra on my insurance. Whether it´s substantial or not. I´ll wait and see what they say ;)

Cheers again
