Winter Claims

Article from Thursday - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8559965.stm

Insurers received 335,000 claims, paying out £650 million pounds to drivers because of our lovely winter weather.

That's £650 million between the 18th December and the 13th January, how much per day?

And people wonder why insurance is so much!

The question is how much do they pay out a day in the summer?

And its only
£395m has been paid out to motorists

;) :p

Can't face the fact that he wasn't driving to the conditions
The IT engineer, who has completed an advanced driving test, said he was travelling at 15mph when he lost control of his van which slid off the road and hit a small wall.
He was disappointed that he could not claim against the local authority which he believed had not done enough to grit the roads.
"I have not had an accident for a lot of years, but now this is a black mark against my name," he said, fearing a rise in premiums.

Loss management co's
Recovery agents.
Storage agents.
NHS.
3rd partys (ie home owner who now has no garden wall)
Shareholders.
Accident repair centres.

That'll be included in the £395 million I'd have thought, I'd have thought when they say to motorists, they mean to 'motor insurance claims' ?
