17 year old male insurance....

im 20 with a 2005 mk2b 1.2 active. my insurance is just short of 2000 as i have 3 points on my license. It just depends really on companies, i worked with a small insurance company and i discovered that it matters what insurance group it is and how much the car is worth . all 1.2 cars (factory spec) are around the same price but it depends on how much the car is worth.

I have always had a car in my own name, and its nearlly made me bankrupt lol, but having a punto is surely worth it ;)

I sometimes feel we spend all our time llooking for insurance with so many vehicles. We have a multi policy for the Classic's but they refused to included the 500 since it was new.

Our son drives the Renault 4 which wasn't helping him pass his test, so we looked at putting him on the 500 (since BSM were using them).

With the Post Office.......... £24,000

Ummmm. It's only a 1,2 POP.

He since past his test........now £27,000.

So onwards with the Renault (which is 5 years older than him!)

thats not too bad. im paying £1100 a year for my 1.1 55 s (1997) aged 17 - 18
(100% standard, no mods)

My renewal is a whopping £4500:eek::eek::eek::eek:

However if i get a new 1.4L punto active my insurance will be just £2200! aged 18-19 with 1 years no claims
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
Work that one out?:confused::confused::confused:

I know and i can understand that College students love cars. The freedom! The love of the road! The unmentionable things that go on in the back seat!
Plain and simple, young people pay an arm and a leg for auto insurance.
Plus, there’s a significant premium to be paid in you are a male under 18 for the simple reason that guys drive more often, especially on dates, and have a higher rate of accidents and dangerous behavior when behind the wheel.

Im stuffed for next year:cry::cry::cry:

No places around uni to rent, so i'll have to drive the 40 miles from home to uni everyday. On top of that the insurance for next year is looking now around £4,700 - Don't understand why it's going up, they said all prices are going up!:mad:

Train still costs more by all of Approx £180 on top of getting car sorted - MOT, Insurance, Maintainance, Fuel & tax:eek:

Might have to look into Taxi costs here(n) stupid really:(

Managed to get it down to £1400 - the same as what i paid for the first year - the 1st time:bang:

Still more than im paying now - due to change in policy - Optional parts now count as mods with current insurer:bang: - Body coloured bumpers...

I'll have to try 'Adrian Flux' nearer the renewal time(y)
