try and persuade your parents to be a named driver? if not i agree to get a slower car for a year or two build some no claims (y)

What sort of advise is that

That's FRONTING! :nono:

Its not cool, and its NOT all you can do to get insured! :bang:

Still really expensive with parents on as named drivers.. in excess of £2000 still :( Gonna have to sell the car when i've passed, I can afford the £75 a month on provisional but Quinn have quoted me £375 a month when I pass, so I definately will be cancelling in a few months. Gonna get a Corsa C SXi I think, only group 3 insurance and is a 1.2 16v :)

Insurance is a right pain whoever your are and whatever your age. If you are 17 then it is just down-right outrageous and totally insulting what they ask you to pay.

If I have learned 1 thing about insurance it is that it will never make sense. I am 37 and insured with RAC, last year it was £300, this year the renewal (nothing changed, no accidents) £700. Sadly I had left it too late (missed the renewal letter as on holiday) and needing to drive the next morning I did not have the time to shop around, so had to fork out the extreme premium. This does mean I won't go with them again tho'.

But back to nothing making sense, 2 years agao (aged 35) I got a fab quote through a search engine with SAGA - and I thought they only did oldies?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

All you can do is to keep shopping around.

Why not get a Group 1 Panda

so what did adrian flux quote? cos was deffo less than 2k for me by my self.

and you really have to phone and haggle, through email they done me at £1600 on my punto now, phoned them and got them down to £1225.

I think I recall it being over 2k.. then second time they didn't email back :bang:

I would, but not my type of car. I know as a first car, a car is a car at the end of the day, but I'm gonna be keeping my first for a while id expect and I want something expensive to show for my hours of hard work :D.
