Be stupid not to declare mods, most people crash in the first couple of months of passing, you'll be ****ed if they dont pay out because your car is modded (Recall MEP saying its around £1m if someone dies in a car crash).

Pass Plus is great, I saved around £350-£400 on my first year.

How long have they been charging more when you've passed your test? As far as I can remember, mine didn't go ups :s

Lube up and be prepared to pay 2kish if your going on your own.
i had to lube up, i couldnt afford to insure my car at 17 on full licence (quinn tried to rape me same as you) so i waited 2 weeks until my 18th and just because i was 18 not 17 it was £300 cheaper, im still paying £1800 tpf&t. you just have to keep checking the sites and try adding one of your parents as named driver.

but im sorry to say the same as matt, bend over for insurance!

Whats this about your dad won't let you go on his insurance?

If your dad takes out a policy on the punto with you on it thats a different policy to his own car. And if something should happen to the punto he wouldn't lose his NCB on his own car. Atleast thats how I have been doing it.

i have known police to question insurance policies if the parent is the main driver and the son/daughter being named driver. i had a mate try to do it.

He uses the car for work and I use it for uni (when he hasn;t got it) and to drive to football etc....He covers way more miles than me, so not actually fronting.

I was suggesting the Karbine just goes on his dads policy and only drives when he needs to ;) not ideal but a hell of a lot cheaper.

ecar insurance...

17, well was, now 18 but its the same policy.
951 quid, tpft
me on a full uk, girlfriend on a provisional.
pass plus done (i got it signed for free ;))
i got my quote on gocompare.com

I was on eCar Insurance before I passed, £1,700 a year and went up to £2,300 tpf&t year. I told them to bugger off and went with Motaquote and got fully comp for £900 a year

Hiya,

17 too, went through the same situation, with the same car, HOWEVER mines is completely standard unlike yours as people are saying lol
Insured now (on a provisional) with Admiral, my own policy, with 2 named drivers (that REALLY helps), £600
however thats only 3rd party.... probably not what you're looking for ?

Fiona xx

I too am 17 like you Fiona, do you know how much yours will be when you pass?
I didn't bother to get mine insured on provisional as I will only be learning for 2 months until I take my test, of which I wa supposed to be booking tonight but will have to be tomorrow.
How many lessons have you had fiona?dan

Oooh I see:) how does that work out? Are you learning with an instructor for 2 months then planning to book your test? How long/ how many lessons you had so far?
Ehhh.. not entirely sure how many pro lessons I've had, about 10 maybe? Quite spaced out with lots of private tuition, which reeally helps:)
Theory test very very soon though.... arrrrghhh:eek: lol x

Yeh, I'm learning in a clio with my instructor at the moment then plan to get my car insured when I pass.
I have had 17 lessons so far, my birthday was 27th May so been around 1 and a half months.
When was your birthday?
Theorys easy if you revise lots, I did about 2 practise tests per night, a week before my test. And maanged 50/50 on questions and 61/75 on hazard.
But I must admint, the question I got were the easy ones

Cool, my instructor had a Peugeot 207 but got a brand new Corsa last week and tbh....... I prefer my old M-reg Punto to both of them hahaha:rolleyes:
Birthday was 7th April, but as I said very spaced out lessons and private practice really helps:) just wish I'd got on with the theory earlier instead of leaving it til now!!!
50/50?? Wowee! Well done!(y)
This thread is becoming very off topic lol x
