Hi im 17, just picked up my 2007 Grande Punto Sporting 1.4 in exotica red! and loving it!!!

Im insured with DirectLine fully comp for £2635 a year (inc courtesy car, legal cover and windscreen protection)
But they gave me 20% off (£527) for pass plus.

so £2108 a year which is a lot of money I know :bang: but a steal of a deal compared to the nearest offer of other insurers starting from £4200 - 6000+ A YEAR!!!

Thought I would share this as I know it sucks to be a young-driver!
ps. I'l get some photos of my new wheels up sooon!!!

Bloody hell.
Makes me glad i had a motorbike instead when i was that age.
Then not having one a UNI.
Most i paid for insurance was £400. I could of never got insurance at that price when i was 17.

Last year (aged 18 at the time) I paid £300 ish deposit and 10 monthly installments of £156 to be insured on my 1.2 GP (insurance group 2) aged 18.

19 now, held my license for over 18 months and on my 4th car now, havent had an accident in any of them.

Currently paying £146 over 12 months to be insured on my honda accord (insurance group 10).

despite my policy costing me nearly 1.8k, I'm not allowed to be insured on both the GP and the Honda at the same time. I'm going back to my GP next week so I have to yet again pay the admin charge to swap the cars over on my direct line policy. Annoying being my age and commuting in bigger cars.

I'd check the small print on your policy, sounds like someone sold you the insurance company !!!

Geeezz there's nothing like pricing the drivers off the road, and they wonder why folk risk it driving without insurance

Thank heavens for having a few years under my belt :D

£2100!! OMG lol
Ive got a 2008 GP S2 1.4 16v, And thats is insured for 12000 (on the day of picking it up) but i pay £539.02p thats with Direct line. Everything on the policy. ( im on my dads but i make my own no claims too :p )
I have never paid anything over £1000 and its always gone down every year :D £51 a month now though wooo !

The last few days my eyes have been re-opened to the shocking prices for young / new drivers are having to pay.

My son-in-law is looking to buy his liitle brother a car for around £400 he has his driving test this week i think and i think he may pass it too.

There are two cars for sale in my works, a fiat bravo - W reg and an N ford fiesta, Bravo is going for £400 and fiesta i going for same price but needs work.

I decided to get a quote for him on the bravo on the confused website, it sounds the better car but, got one for the fiesta too just to see what they were quoting.

so for a 17 yr old, just passed his test couple of days ago, clean licence:

Bravo - £5.5K TPFT for the year
Fiesta £4K TPFT for the year

 shocking.....

Would not like to be 17 again - lol

ive got 2 years ncb and no points and im 22 living in a very rough area and i pay 800 f/comp on my 08 gps 130 which i think is ok since i was payin the same for a 1.2 sxi corsa a few weeks ago lol

:yeahthat: I added my mum and got £600 knocked off

Bell are boss

**** me...

Just went to bell.co.uk, added my mum on (not 100% sure on how long ago the claim she made was...so might have to change it).

Around £600 for my 1.2 Punto, fully comp, £500 excess, at 19, with 2 years no claims...

*makes a note to get a quote when renewal is due*

Without my mum its £700 odd.
