Grande punto sporting - 17 year old - direct line!

Never paid more than £650 for my insurance - first year was a named driver on mum's car (Volvo 440 1.8 Si) and had my Kawasaki ZZ-R motorbike for daily commuting so managed to get the mileage on the car right down.

Second year was named driver again, £400, on a Citroen Xantia 1.9 Td.

Third year started my own insurance with Bell, mum as second driver, £650 or so TPFT on a 205 STDT (fantastic car, would still have it if the engine hadn't eaten itsself at 175k miles!)

Fourth year, Bell came down to £500 or so still on the 205 still TPFT

Last year Bell were at the £400 mark, again TPFT on the 205 and then an Escort TDDI Estate as it's temporary replacement.

Now I have a quote for me and the girlfriend on a 1.9JTD 115 '04 Stilo, Fully comp, living in a pretty dire area, no excess and all the extras £440..... totally astounded!

Time shows guys, insurance is killer but once you get past that first year NCB it generally cuts by 50%. Sadly we have to pay for the retards who drive out on the first evening and bend their brand new Saxo/Fiesta around a tree!!

Yellow :woot:

my new car will be a 2007 fiat bravo 1.9multijet active 120bhp

i got a a quote of adrimal with my dad as named driver it was £790 full comp with 2 years ncb and im 22 years old with my mum as named driver
its £727 and with just me on its £972 which i dont think is to bad for me as i got quoted more on a 306 turbo diesal which was 9 year old

have you tried adrian flux? they have always seemed cheapest when ive got quotes.

Just put a quote through with Bell, I'll be 18 and it gives me the option to drive other cars for extra £40, I've never found an insurer that offers this for under 21s before can anyone verify this, or when I try to get the policy will it tell me to ring call centre who will tell me I can't have it?

I'm with Admiral and I payed around £2200 for GP Sport 1.4 with mom on policy, this was mainly because I wrote off my last car in June last year, and I've only got 1 and half years driving experience, no pass plus.

Went out and got a decent job :) I only work 12 hours a week, I spend the rest tinkering with my car..and occasionally studying at sixth form (y)

What do you get £20 an hour?

Even working 3 jobs i still couldnt afford to buy and insure a car like that along with other things i have to pay for...

heyyy im 19 my insurance is cheap.. when i was 17 i only paid like £550 for a Mk1 Punto 1.1 now my GP is £587 fully comp with £150 excess as second driver and im gona get a 1year No claim with Directline... young drivers like me are the reasons these companies arn't affected by the credit crunch LooL

Are you the main driver?

If so, thats 'fronting' and is a very dangerous game my friend, been there and got the T-shirt :( ;)

work this out....

stilo 1.9jtd dynamic... 3 years ncb at 20, £680 a year

bravo 120mj.. £650 a year..

and 150mj... £700 a year..

there newer cars, one of thems gonna be faster and yet a very similar price

Insurance is silly expensive for you guys out there, with me bein a girl for some reason its a bit different. My first car was one of the mk1 1.6 punto sportings, that was £1700 fully comp until i modded it obviously, but even then when it had window tints, exhaust,K&N, full body kit, alloys, stereo subs etc it was only £1300 with 1 yr NCB. I really do think its shady how they expect lads to be more rebelious at young ages n charge you through the roof for insurance!!!!

Now i drive a 180bhp grande punto abarth esseesse (4 years ncb later) at the age of 22 for £1300, so am still in that bad age bracket (that was the only 1 that was cheap through my bank the rest were around £2k)

At least am payin that much for a better car now tho, & its not more than my car is worth, lol.........Roll on 25th Birthday, hopin it will drop alot then (y)

you are all lucky if you ask me would be just under £4000 for me to insure my car on my own tomorrow:bang: and i pay £1700 now under my dads name:cry:

edit
yep i was right i just talked to adrian flux and they said it will be over £4000 and i would have to get the car put in my name:bang:

Cheapest i found for my Cinq sporting, was £2503
Most expencive was £6000
However, When my mum is the main driver, £120
WTF!!!!!!

its retarded. A 1.1 fiat, how can they justify that.

so £2108 a year which is a lot of money I know

Damn:eek: i was gettin quotes like that when i passed my test upwards of £2k fully comp on a 1.2 mk1 punto and i was 20. ended up on mothers insurance for £1500 but now at 700 with 1 yrs no claims an 6 points on a gp 1.2

Im guessin you have parents helping with cost?

Nope, every penny that goes into my car is a penny I've earnt myself :) I dont like borrowing.

My postcode is rated A/B in the insurers directory (which is good) :D

Just incase people didnt know (and I didnt until recently) The insurers have risk brackets for properties postcodes ranging from A(low risk) -> F(high risk) and anything riskier than F is "referred".

As an example my A/B bracket postcode costing me approx £2000 would cost me an additional £900 living in an E/F bracket - a 3 minute drive away.
Madness.

I sound like a right stuck-up briefcase w*nker - Im not . ;)
