Hey people. as you can see form title im 20, have 1 years no claims and drive a 2008 grande punto spoting 1.4 16v, i have been getting quote for renewl and getting like £1200 cheapest with everythign i want from the cover. any tips on best insurance company for my situation, and do you think i will get it ALOT cheaper by ringing around?

cheers.

got £1,000 from AA online, so im hoping i can get it down to like £900 by ringing around getting each company to compete!

Try direct line im with them. I'm 20 been driving three years and just got 1 year full ncb driving an GP M-JET sporting . I was paying £1200 before which was the same price as my 1.4 sri corsa but my renewal just came through at £770.

balls to no mods, im gona spend a whole day just constantly ringing insurers back getting quotes getting them to compete, a day ringing people, as annoying as it wil be, wil be worth it if i save a couple of hundred squid! im paying for it upfront you see so need to get it as cheap as!

you could try adrian flux. when i was insuring my 1.1 punto (mk1) as an 18-y-o no ncb 3rd party fire & theft i was getting 2200, they insured me for 1500! so myt b worth giving them a call

Im 23, 0 years NCB and license for 2 years and just bought a 1.9 MJet GP Sporting.

With Bell Insurance (www.bell.co.uk) I got a 10 months accelerated NCB scheme for just over £700! When you do your quote, put in that your renewal price was £450 or something daft.

Good luck!

Martin

Try adding a parent onto ur policy as a named driver, thats always brought my insurance down a little bit. Also im with privillage along with my mum and dad, so they have done what they call multi-car insurance and knocked another 10% off.

my renewal quote was £844 down from £970 with TSB so went to privillage and it was £760 ish then but dad on my insurance and when down to £680 ish

So maybe worth a try

Yeah but with accelerated NCB schemes like that you can only use the NCB with bell so if you want to change insurers your pretty screwed.

From the Bell website, 'Policy Explained'

What if I choose not to renew?
If you want to leave Bell after the 10 months (although we hope you'll want to stay with us) then don't worry because we will give you proof of the No Claims Bonus you have earned with us.

I wouldnt have taken this if it wasnt for ^

Sorted then (y)
Not really.

They'lll happily give you a cert proving 10 months of NCB, but not a years worth, and most companies will only recognise 12 month/year at a time
