Having decided that insurance on out Citroen Picasso & (12 yr old) Golf GTI for a 17 yr old drive, we've decided to sell on the Golf & get a GP 1.2

Anyone able to recommend a company with sensible quotes on a 1.2?

Since there seem to be good discounts on the GP at the moment, am thinking of buying new, although the decision to drop the 1.2 from the new model range may yet scupper this!

Why is it that a group 4 Ford can always be insured for less than a group 4 Fiat etc etc even when the car value is the same?

Try some companies as moneysupermarket. com etc. Watch out for companies you have never heard of. Heard on one guy got dirt cheap insurance with a company, they folded, he lost all his cash.

This year used a web based search company and got a quote on my gp1.2 for £130 but not great cover included. Next best had the cover i need, business, free hire car, no claims etc for over £200. Discussed this with my comapny direct line who had quoted me £209 and got the lot for £160.

Do they allow mods?

the actual insurance is with zenith but young marmalade get it cheaper or something similar so i asume the rules are the same as any normal zenith policy

i would not know, i tried to find out a minute ago but there website aint much use. you could always give them a ring and find out.

At 18 the cheapest quote I could find was £1,700 with direct line on a 1.2 Grande Punto

Doubt they would allow mods
