Re: The RS Turbo

I don't think people are having a go as such more concerned about possible consequences. Insurance companies are bastards and will do anything not to pay up. I'm going through an insurance claim at the moment and i tell you it's hard work.....

yeh i thought that was the case, it's kind of dragged out though. i'm going through a claim too from when i got knocked off my bike, that went through the insurance with a 70cc engine, every other illegal mod going and i was 16 at the time and it was down as a 50cc, no probs luckily!

Alex, I was really hoping that you'd be the exception to the rule but the last few posts you have made has just confirmed exactly why the insurance companies and the government are trying to raise the driving age. Plus why insurance companies charge so much for insurance for your age group. You've admitted to misleading your insurance company not once, but twice and have also admitted to riding a bike illegally that also had "every other illegal mod going". You're hardly a good example of a responsible younger motorist are you?

One day you might be involved in a fatal road accident and/ or have friends who've had their lives ruined by young irresponsible drivers driving cars beyond their capabilities and experience. I've been through these and trust me, it's no laughing matter. You might think it funny that you're bending the regulations or hiding information from insurance companies, but will you find it so funny WHEN that accident happens and the insurance company finds out that that you've not declared vital information and they invalidate your insurance? Will you still be laughing when you know that you could face a possible injury claim against you personally that you will be paying off for the rest of your life? Will you still be smiling knowing that when you tried to overtake 2 - 3 cars, cocked it up and end up maiming/ killing someone in the process you have to carry the knowledge that someones family has lost a loved one/ husband/ wife/ brother/ sister?

Please try and show more respect for the road, your car and your fellow motorists and also show a little more maturity. At the moment I am only glad that you are at the other end of the country to me as by your own admissions you are exactly the sort of driver who I don't wish to come across on the road.

first off, i'm not misleading the insurance company.

Are you sure?

i'm going through a claim too from when i got knocked off my bike, that went through the insurance with a 70cc engine, every other illegal mod going and i was 16 at the time and it was down as a 50cc, no probs luckily!

secondly, i overtook the cars without breaking the speed limit.

You don't have to break the speed limit to crash.

thirdly, i find it hard to beleive everyone that's slated my driving is a perfect driver.

No-one is perfect. But at least I am fully insured and have maximum no-claims to prove my driving record.

I give up Alex. You won't admit that you've done ANYTHING wrong, again proving why 18 year old males get hammered and shouldn't be allowed to drive higher powered cars. You don't even seem to grasp that your attitude is offensive to a number of posters who HAVE suffered because of cocky, young drivers who thought they could bend the rules only to find out that when they crashed they weren't covered by insurance.

Good luck.

The short of everyones point is the insurance that is in place to let you drive the RST is for occasional use like once a week to the chippy not every time you feel like it just watch out.

well it doesn't say that in the t&cs, as i said before, i've been driving it quite a bit whilst the novelty's still there, must have worn off lol, havent been in it today.

i undersand where people are coming from about ocassional use but how can they find out how often you drive the car unless say you get pulled over by an insurance man everyday driving it..?

Gotta stand up for Alex here if I was in his position I would of done the same god knows i tried to insure my Uno turbo cheaper but ended up just paying the almost 2k they wanted..

yea totally, my cinq S was insured in my mums name for 2 years for £850 as i couldnt afford the stupid amounts i was quoted! Now i have my own policy on the cinq still running (which i've sold) and a named driver for the golf mk1 cabrio, but i'm not the main driver, but i do drive it a bit.

It does seem a bit mean everyone picking on him - if his insurance is valid (which it is) what's the problem?

Bringing his driving into question is ridiculous ... if he took out his own policy on the car (as his own) - would you still all be slating him?

Should of just added

*THE END*

:D
