Lake District 022.jpgThe wife actually took this pic of me in the Lake District in November. She did use MY camera though. Does it still count?

I dunno what the "best" photo ive taken is but I had a number of amazing opertunities on my holiday last year in Rome and Florence. First visit to both cities so took hundreds (around 15 rolls of film) of photos.

Here are 4 of my favourites. Please excuse the crapo quality but they are photos taken from the prints using crapo lighting so the white balance isnt perfect but meh :p Plus I dont have photoshop on this PC to correct it :( Also some dont appear 100% sharp.. This again is just because ive taken a photo of a photo in crap light :p

Quite an unusual photo of the Colleseum in Rome. This is one of the entrance walkways where the specators would have walked to get to there seats.

A shot of the ceiling inside the Pantheon in Rome. Massive hole in the roof which is a giant dome. The sunlight pours in and produces this stunning beam of light.

A shot of one of the main churches in Florence. I've forgotten the name but its the one that the statue of David stands outside. I love the way the sun has backlit the building yet there is still plenty of detail in the building itself.

A shot of the almost symetrical Uffizi Gallery in Florence. I love how the lines draw your eye to the bottom of the shot with the busy crowds.

My fave pic is this one, taken just after a storm driving from Cork to Kerry early evening in February...Brings back happy memories too. As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words! (y)

the BEST photo I ever took (eagles nest in bavaria from an alternative angle half way down a sled slope) got lost when this idiot german dixons fellow crammed the memory card the wrong way into a computer.

it was like everest shaped peak with snow stuff billowing off the top of this pointy peak, forest below it, another peak to the left, eagles nest barely in shot to the right, and the sky was the darkest purest blue I've ever seen.

I nearly flew back to saltsburg to kill that german dixons fellow.

You know that Salzburg (no 't' or 's' in it!) is in Austria, therefore it is more likely to have been an Austrian rather than a German fellow ;)

And they have Dixons in Europe? I thought Dixons went bust a few years back

well it was a dixons/curries *type* shop

and maybe he was austrian maybe german.

all the local germans drive just there to get petrol as its about 15 euro cents a LITRE cheaper.

so your 120l merc S class will save you enough for a few bottles of coke or more:cool:

Until I get the new camera these are the best I could find, I think the first one is my favourite but I couldn't make my mind up for sure.
