Good camera for £200ish

Can anyone recommend one? dont want to go crazy, think dslr is out of the question lol.

Anything that doesnt eat batteries, has a good zoom and high resolution with macro too

any help would be appreciated!

For about £200 (look on ebay) you can get a Nikon D40 DSLR. Battery is rechargeable and lasts ages!.

I bought mine brand new on offer from argos with a lens for £240 brand new!.

Thanks guys, think I'm stuck on the idea of getting an SLR now lol.

baffled by the amount of options though

upped the budget to £300 though, really dont want to spend too much

When you go SLR you will not go back. Just have a look at reviews and find the best price you want. D40 is best entry level tbfh

You really can't go wrong with a D40 its a great beginner DSLR

Really? Im in the market for a DSLR, havent had one before and the parents are getting one for my 21st

Nikon D40 all the fecking way for first camera. It's good quality and easy menu makes it hands down the best buy. Then always upgrade if needs be. Canon if you are spending ££££ imo

Think I've decided on a D40 with a couple of extras, found a great deal for £300 with a lense, bag and a couple of filters.

Ended up getting the D60 for nearly as good a price, dont slate me, I know its basically just the D40 it just came up at the right time and price

Anyway having a play with it and so far its been amazing. DSLR = FTW

A D60 for around £300 will not get you slated! SLR's are just another level aren't they. Hopefully getting my new one next week.

We use the Nikon D40 in photography, i'm currently borrowing one from school over these 7 weeks holidays.
I'm no pro but they are so easy to use and simple to get decent results.
