Hi,
My Fiat Idea has recently started to show the MIL light and is throwing a P0087 (fuel rail system pressure too low). It occasionally goes into limp home mode but can be reset.
Any ideas of where to start?
I thought that a low pressure fault would stop the high pressure pump as would be the case on a HDI engine, maybe this is not the case on a Multijet.
My next step is to change the fuel filter.

The car is a 2006 UK spec Fiat Idea 1.3 Mulijet (90 BHP).

Many thanks.

Howie

What state is your battery in as my 1.4 petrol had the engine light on when first bought and that turned out to be a dodgy battery with threw up different faults. Give it a full charge and see if the problem is still there, it's free and hopefully should rule out battery problems first.

Hi,

The battery is in good condition although I'm still getting fault codes. Further to the original code I'm getting a spurious P0747 code. The car doesn't have an auto gearbox, is this something anyone else has seen before?

Regards,
