we tried normal stuff checked scuttle drains, door seals and stuff, cant find where water is coming from its ok in summer but this time of year is soaking wet.

car does not have a sun roof.

cant see no leak if sitting in car with some one else hosing water from out side.

Hi Dave. I have the same problem ,with my 06 idea. its at the dealer for the 3rd time since Aug. new scuttle has been fitted . still leaks! think its the bonnet release cable grommet? went to see it today as chap said he had found it .carpets up nice and dry put hose on it next minute trickle of water coming down under dash and onto floor pan . lets know if you find yours:bang:

Dave,

Did you find the source of your leak?

Our Idea has the same soaking wet passenger carpet. It is clean water and it seems to be coming from the bulkhead, on or about the 'transmission tunnel'.

Suspects would seem to be:

1) Heater Matrix - Car has used water for at least 6 of the 10 years, 45,000 miles we have had it (leak never located. However, the system was drained and the coolant replaced last year and the water loss seemed to stop.

2) Air Con Outlet Pipe - No idea where that is!!

3) Bonnet Hinge - Had a broken coil spring replaced this time last year and the bonnet was removed then (one to check).

4) Windscreen Scuttle Drains - I went to check the drains but the monkey who put the scuttle back on after replacing the coil spring has put the wiper arms back on the wrong way round and jammed the passenger arm on so tight I can not remove it..... :bang:

Ok, finally got the wiper arm off and removed the scuttle. The drains are clear but there is a big hole that looks like it should house a filter of some sort? I can well imagine rain water streaming down the windscreen, under the scuttle and straight down this hole into the heating system?
