Can anyone help?

Car: Fiat Idea, 2004 Model

Essentially I have an IO Play bluetooth kit which I've taken out of a Citroen and want to connect to my Fiat. I've purchased the Autolead SOT lead (SOT-090) for the car, and the radio displays "CANBUS Error" ?

I know the IO Play kit works as it was fully functioning out the Citroen, and I have also tried a second kit on the Fiat with the same results and yet both kits spring alive in different cars.

Can anyone give me any heads-up on this as I'm baffled?!

Have I brought the correct SOT lead - SOT-090 ?

Do I maybe need a different cable / adaptor to allow for after market kits to be added?

If I brought something like an "OBDII CANBUS Diagnositic Bluetooth Interface" and cleared the error message, would this then allow me to use the existing factory fitted radio with my kit?

Lastly - if I took out the radio and replaced it with a different one, would I still have "CANBUS Error" (even if not displayed?) and would I lose any of the car's functionality (rear parking sensors, etc...).

My ideal solution would be existing car radio, with my kit - sounds simple... surely the idea behind ISO blocks in cars these days is to allow easy connection to "other" devices?!

Hopefully someone "CANbus" help ! (sorry for the poor pun!)

Basically your connecting something the cambus does not recognize and throws up the fault.
You can however get a box of tricks that allows you to connect accessories which is cambus friendly, do a search on ebay, i've seen them on there.
