I checked all idea threads and couldn't find info about this:
I have a 1.4 idea dynamic of 2004, it does not have front fog lights. Because one of the headlamps could do with replacing, I looked on Ebay, and found and bought two new headlamp units. It now turns out these have the foglights. I now wonder if the wiring of my car is already prepared for connecting these lampunits with foglights. I also wonder if the dashboard unit with the lamp buttons (right below steering wheel) is prepared to add a switch? Anyone has any idea? (;))

My 1.4 Dynamic has, as standard, driving lights (fog lights)? incorporated in the headlights, and what I call fog lights fitted to the rear. Both lights are controlled by switches located to the right hand side of the steering wheel (as you sit in the car), just below the ventilation grill.

The headlamp units look exactly the same, including the foglight reflectors. The only visible difference is the actual fog lamps, they are in the units I just bought, and not in the reflector of the units on the car. I just would find it hard to believe if it turns out that the wiring has to be changed, surely the wiring, as part of the loom, is probably prepared for adding the fog lamps and a switch? How can I find the wiring diagram for the (non foglight) idea 1.4 dynamic 2004? Cheers.

A collegue at work used to work in car production and told me that wiring-looms are the same in a certain model (like the idea) independent of the various options of that model, to keep production costs down: if different wiring-looms were used, a mistake would cause chaos at the end of the production line where options are added. This makes sense to me, and I hope it is true. He also told me he thought the panel with the light buttons below the steering wheel is prepared to take on another switch/ push button for the foglights. Again, I hope he is right, it would make sense.
