Hi, i have a 1.4 Idea and i am trying to access the diagnostic socket, but cant work out how to get the lower plastic trim panel off.

I believe the socket is located under the steering wheel behind the plastic trim.

Thanks

Found it, Autodata CD put it under steering wheel but found it at the base of the fuse box.
Found my old diagnostic lead for the Alfa so thought i would try it with the ECUScan software, well it worked a treat and would let me test all the regular stuff to check operation, you can reset fault codes and even reset the self learning if you fit any parts that need it. The one thing i wanted was to reset the service light but you must need to pay for the full version for that.

Just looking into this now.

I am sure I will find the socket but do you mean it is on the driver or passenger side?

Also did you use a VAG-Com lead or ELM327? Looking at the ECUscan site it was the VAG lead but now it points to the ELM.

Did you pay for the full version? it doesnt seem bad considering the price of a service light reset at a dealer, if you can get them to do it. It also means that the people who have paid for the program may have also serviced the car.

These are the locations for the Idea diagnostic connector for LHD and RHD vehicles.
