Have obtained price for my local dealer to carry out timing belt replacement on my 1.4 Dynamic. Cost is around £270, but with a bit of discount comes down to £231.50 inclusive. Recently, a member of the family had belt changed on a 1.8 Picasso and the Citroen forum indicated that the water pump should be changed at the same time, thus eliminating possible duplication of work (and cost) in the event of WP problems at a later date. Seems like a sensible precaution, so I am considering doing the same on the Idea.
Before having work done, I will cost Kit as timing set comes with tensioner, to see if it is worth doing it myself. Any thoughts, any-one?(y)
