Hi,
Can anyone help, My Fiat Idea is out of it warranty period and I've had it serviced at a local garage. Unfortunately the local garage does not know how to reset the service expired message. Does anyone know how this is done?

If its good customer i'll do it for free aslong as they can prove service was done correctly.

(basic examiner is £3k not including any extras [another £2k+] and around £1k annual subscriptions)

I have been searching for this answer now for about an hour, and have read this post with interest. I have just returned from my dad's house, where his 4yr old Fiat Idea will not start. He has only had it 3 weeks from a franchised dealer and it has covered just over 61,000 miles.
First thing I noticed was the OSD saying "check active" then up came the message "service expired" followed by "airbag failure" ! He does not have the emergency code required for emergency start ups (not sure it would work for this anyway.) Next thing I noticed was that it took me 4 presses of the radio On/Off button to get the thing to come on, then the interior lights and the main OSD started flashing on and off at regular 1 second intervals (???)
Does the "service expired" message stop the car from starting? And more to the point does this still sound like its the service error because of the other errors I mention, or worse, possibly an ECU fault ?

Any coments would be grateful......oh and hi folks. (y)
