Well I'm not quite up to the installing stage yet but more the planning stages I would Like some help planning! Rite lets start with he choice of subwoofer I'm torn between two really :

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3709.html

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4087.html

I beleive the second sub is meant for competition and therefore isn't reall desired for the purpOse i want it for (general Music Listening LOUD)

btw i have a mk2.5 punto would these be 2 loud for this car??

Thanks in advance

It'd have to be the first one if it was a straight choice of those two, although I would look at getting a custom box made - I don't trust most prefabbed boxes.

Thx 4 ur reply, Wot made you choose the 1st can i ask?? and yer i have considered the custom built box a friend even offered 2 help me make it but dont know if i trust him lol, what would it require and would it be cheaper than a standard box? wot does any1 else think bout choice of sub?

Rob

The Pio is more SPL orientated, the JBL more musical.

I prefer to build my own boxes purely because most prefabbed boxes are the wrong volume for the sub you've got.

Right ok, I'm gettin the picture now, go with the two JBL's but in a custom box, is there any guides to making my own box, i think i have basic woodworking skills and tools, what else would I need? would I need any sound proofing/deading considering the car that I have?

thanks guys

when you get the subs the volume of the box needed is included bit of maths  and you got the dimensions:D

rite so basically all the information concerning box size and volume comes with the sub? will this have advice for a box with 2 subs or should i just double the dimensions and volume etc?

You'll need mdf (18mm is good), screws, gripfil and an aplicator gun for the gripfil.

Sound proofing and deadening is preferable, should stop the boot ratling and it'll keep more of the music in the car and out of other people's. BUT good soundproofing is expensive, you might be looking at £100 to do the boot floor inc spare wheel well.

If you need an amp aswell then this might be worth a look. Those enclosures are meant to be very good (Even the hardcore bassheads) like those enclosures and the sub's meant to be quite reasonable too. Can get free delivery if you do a google search for (caraudiodirect s2k) and go to one of the honda s2000 websites

Rite well Its settled on the two Jbl GTO1202D in a custom box and because I work at a school we have a technology classroom which has table saws etc and teacher who may help me build it! By the way last nite i purchased my head unit Pioneer DEH-P6800MP heres the link to the item:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWN:IT&viewitem=&item=190068351605&rd=1&rd=1

What amp does any1 recomend to run with these 2 subs something along the lines of a 1000wrms?

Thx n let me wot u think of the head unit!

nah i'd rather stay new i fink i'm settled on the jbl subs they have a good speicification and look gud. btw every1 me n the technology techer are gonna make my sub enclosure he seems keen on the idea and apparently has an 8x4 ft sheet of 18mm mdf goin spare :) so thats sorted!

Now then amp which amp would be good to drive them both??

I used to have 1 of those JBL subs on a relatively small amp and it smashed most of my mates setups so two of those on a good name brand amp should get you pumpin. One thing that i will say is you will nearly always blow something on your first install and bass is as addictive as crack you will never be happy, so if you start big and expensive it will only get bigger and more costly.

Thx for the encouragement volxstu lol well i as always i'm a perfectionist and thats y i'm starting out properly, i dont do anything half assed!! do u think a 1000 watt rms amp would drive these two subs alright am i supposed to go over the designated wattage of the sub??

thanks in advance
